Irregular card inlays place a contactless antenna and chip within a non-standard outline for small cards, keychain shapes or encapsulated accessories. The published PVC reference is 0.50 ± 0.02 mm thick, with layout tailored to the final outline.

Design around the antenna, not the silhouette
A decorative outline can cross the antenna path. Place the chip, connection and conductor inside the final cut line with a defined margin before laying out many positions on a sheet.
Small format versus full-size card
Reducing antenna area changes coupling. An IC that works well in a full-size card may need a different antenna and reader position when placed inside a small keychain or epoxy format.
