Chip Supply Resilience

Direct chip supply — the unspoken reason buyers keep repeat-ordering from RFIDAK

Direct distributor accounts — 30+ chip types in stock: NXPImpinjEM Micro

Between 2020 and 2023, the global semiconductor shortage disrupted RFID manufacturing for most of the industry. NXP MIFARE DESFire EV3 lead times stretched from 8 weeks to 52+ weeks at some periods. Several mid-tier Chinese RFID factories paused taking new orders entirely, while others tripled their quoted prices overnight or quietly substituted counterfeit chips to keep shipping.

RFIDAK navigated the shortage without a single cancelled customer order. Three operational decisions made the difference.

  • 1

Direct supply relationships with chip vendors since 2018

NXP Semiconductors (MIFARE Classic / Plus / DESFire / NTAG family), Impinj (Monza UHF), NXP UCODE (UHF logistics), EM Microelectronic (LF 125 kHz) — all via direct distributor accounts rather than grey-market brokers.

  • 2

12-month rolling chip inventory on critical SKUs

Rather than Just-In-Time, RFIDAK holds a 12-month forward buffer on DESFire EV2/EV3, Plus EV2, Classic 1K/4K, NTAG213/215, Monza R6-P, and UCODE 9 — enough to absorb a 6-month supply disruption without passing it to buyers.

  • 3

100% chip electrical verification before lamination

Every incoming chip batch is read-tested at the reel before entering production — counterfeit or grey-market substitution is caught at inspection, not at the end customer's reader.

Current chip shortage outlook (2026): MIFARE DESFire EV3 supply has stabilized industry-wide, but Impinj M800 and NXP UCODE 9 face cyclical tightness as retail / apparel RFID adoption accelerates. RFIDAK flags any early shortage signal to buyers before quotation, rather than discovering it mid-production.

What This Means For Your Procurement Plan

  • Quotations stay valid for 30 days without chip-price surprise clauses
  • Stock chip types ship in 7–15 business days regardless of global headlines
  • Chip origin traceability documented per lot (real NXP / Impinj die, never pulled from e-waste)
  • Honest early flagging when a specific chip is tight — no mid-project surprises

Environmental Management

Certified environmental management system that controls waste, emissions and resource usage throughout the production lifecycle.

What this means for buyers

Meets sustainability requirements for government and enterprise procurement.

SGS Factory Audit

Verified Manufacturing Facility

Independent third-party audit by SGS confirming facility conditions, production capacity, worker safety and management systems.

The Humans

The team behind every order

Three dedicated functions handle every account from first enquiry to shipment — international sales, RF engineering and quality control.

International Sales

Quotes in 24–48 hours

Your first reply. Turns "it depends" into a price, an MOQ and a lead time, and keeps the thread moving across time zones.

RF / Production Engineering

Chip & antenna matching

Matches chip families and antenna designs to your installed readers before production starts — so surprises happen in our lab, not in your rollout.

Quality Control

100% read-test before shipment

Runs read/write testing on every production batch and signs off dimensions, print and packaging before anything leaves the dock.

How We Work

A manufacturing workflow that starts with fit, not guesswork

1

Review the use case

We start with the reader type, chip requirement, target environment and final application so the product recommendation is grounded in real usage.

2

Match the product format

Cards, labels, hard tags, wristbands or keyfobs are selected based on read distance, mounting surface, wear conditions and user flow.

3

Confirm samples and customization

Before mass production, buyers can validate print, encoding, material and performance using samples or pilot quantities.

4

Move into production

Once the sample path is approved, production planning, packaging and shipment can be aligned with the order schedule.

Factory Visit

Visit the factory — in person or by video

Buyers are welcome to audit the facility in person. If travel is not practical, we run live video walkthroughs on WhatsApp — production lines, QC stations and warehousing, shown in real time on request.
