Use Cases
Where this product format usually fits
These common deployments help buyers judge whether the product belongs in the right sample batch.
Dual LF/HF access systems (TK4100 + MIFARE Classic 1K)
Transit migration cards (EM4200 + Ultralight EV1)
NFC + UHF inventory cards (Ultralight C + UCODE 8)
Multi-application campus and corporate cards
Transitional cards during reader/system upgrades
Loyalty plus access in a single credential
Combi Card Inlay Types
1Combi inlay configurations
Common builds: TK4100 + MIFARE Classic 1K EV1 (LF+HF access); EM4200 + Ultralight EV1 (transit migration); Ultralight C + UCODE 8 (HF+UHF, NFC plus inventory); three-chip combinations on request. Thickness 0.50-0.60 mm. Antenna: pre-wound coil or ultrasonic-embedded copper on PVC, PET or other substrate.
2Combi vs dual-interface
A combi inlay places two or more independent contactless chips in one card so each serves a different system. A dual-interface inlay uses one CPU chip that talks over both a contact pad and a contactless antenna. If you need two separate technologies (say LF door access plus UHF parking), choose combi; if you need one secure CPU that works contact and contactless (EMV / eID), choose dual-interface.

3Two or three chips in one card nest
A combi inlay integrates several RFID functional units into a single card nest and makes them work in parallel. The spatial layout is planned so the chips do not interfere while each keeps its own read/write performance — that planning is most of the value.
Common builds: TK4100 + MIFARE Classic 1K for dual LF/HF access, EM4200 + Ultralight EV1 for transit migration, Ultralight C + UCODE 8 for NFC plus UHF inventory. A contact chip module can be embedded as well when the layout is designed for it.
4Thin combi builds use a strip module, not a bare die
Fitting two chips into 0.50–0.60 mm is a thickness problem before it is an RF problem. Where a bare COB die would sit too proud, we switch to a pre-packaged strip module and add compensation sheets around it so the laminated card still comes out flat.

5Every chip on the unit is tested separately
Two chips means two independent read checks per unit, plus a resonance check on each antenna. A combi card that only answers one reader is scrap, so neither test is a sample.
| What is checked | Instrument | Coverage |
|---|---|---|
| Chip response and read/write | Multi-chip test platform with reader and terminal | 100% of units |
| Antenna resonance frequency | Bode 100 vector network analyser | Setup + in-process |
| Inlay thickness | Digital height gauge | Per sheet lot |
| Chip-to-antenna bond strength | Push-force instrument | Per shift |
| Bond joint condition | Stereo microscope | Per shift |
| Substrate identity and density | Precision density balance | Incoming material (IQC) |
| Ageing and lamination survival | Constant temperature and humidity chamber | Qualification + periodic |

Buyer Questions
Questions buyers usually ask before sample approval
These FAQs cover the points that usually come up between a first shortlist and a real sample or quote request.
What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ) for Combi Card Inlay?+

Yes. Combi Card Inlay supports end-to-end customization: full-color CMYK / silk-screen / UV printing, laser engraving, serial numbering, custom chip encoding (UID write, NDEF, sector locking), custom shape / size (subject to tooling MOQ), and packaging. Share your artwork, chip requirement and quantity and we will return a spec sheet + price within 24 hours.
Is Combi Card Inlay compatible with my existing reader or system?+
Compatibility depends on the frequency band (LF 125 kHz / HF 13.56 MHz / UHF 860–960 MHz) and chip family used by your reader or installed system. Send a photo of your current card / reader model and we will recommend the matching chip + test a sample before bulk order.
What certifications and quality control does RFIDAK apply to Combi Card Inlay?+
RFIDAK operates under ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 management systems, certified by Anhui Certification and Inspection Co., Ltd. How does RFIDAK handle repeat orders of Combi Card Inlay?+
For repeat buyers, RFIDAK locks tooling, artwork and chip encoding on file so subsequent POs ship faster — typically 5–10 business days for stock chip types at previously-run quantities. Price is adjusted transparently per chip market rate and FX movement; we flag any chip shortage (e.g., DESFire EV3) before quotation so the project plan stays realistic.
