2Why LF inlay supply is scarce
Low-frequency antennas need many turns of copper wire to reach 125KHz, and most wire-planting machines cannot lay them cleanly, so many factories stopped making LF prelam. 3Why the 125KHz coil is the hard part
To resonate at 125KHz an antenna needs many turns of fine copper wire — far more than a 13.56MHz loop. Most automatic wire-planting machines cannot lay that many turns cleanly, which is why a lot of factories quietly dropped LF prelam and now only quote HF.
The wire itself is the constraint: stable impedance, uniform diameter, quick to soften and harden so it demoulds cleanly. Uneven wire gives you coils that sit proud, cards that show a coil print, and read range that varies across the sheet.

4Wound automatically, not by hand
Hand-laid coils deform, sit unevenly and leave a visible print on the finished card. Automatic implanting places every turn with the same gap, which is what makes 125KHz read performance repeatable from the first sheet of a run to the last.
LF inlays are also thicker than HF for this reason — 0.50–0.55 mm against 0.40–0.50 mm — because the coil simply needs the depth. Layouts are 2×5 and 5×5, in normal-standard or completely flat form.
